Public bug reported:
The forwarding database (FDB) grows out of control after too many broadcast

I've written a test script to reproduce the bug here using virtual box:

I'm experiencing an issue after upgrading from Xubuntu 15.10 to 16.04. I'm
using a Dell Latitude E7450, attached to a docking station, and connected to
two Dell U2715H via mDP, both displaying 2560x1440.
Each of the displays intermittently turns off for about 2 or 3
Public bug reported:
The following problem appears with Ubuntu wily 15.10 and xenial 16.04:
I bind-mount my rootfs to a temporary folder. I explicitly use --bind
and NOT --rbind. The result is as expected: I only see the files which
are in the rootfs, any other mounts are invisible in this
I just found this mail which describes a problem which has the same
root: http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-fsdevel/msg92569.html:
root@xubuntu:~# mkdir tmp1
root@xubuntu:~# mkdir tmp2
root@xubuntu:~# mount -o bind /dev tmp1
root@xubuntu:~# ls tmp1/pts
root@xubuntu:~# mount -o bind /dev/pts
I have the same problem with an intel i7-6500U on the 4.4.0 from Apr
18th. The Kernel does not freeze when i plug the external display in
before booting.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tested latest v4.6 kernel
(4.6.0-040600rc6-generic) successfully. I haven't seen the issue pop up
in the last 7 hours or so, so it does indeed seem that this was fixed
upstream.

@Joseph It was fixed in the upstream kernel. I have added tags and
changed the status.

I am having the issue as well on kernel 4.4.0-66 (x64). Disabling
HighDMA did not fix anything on my end and I cannot figure out what will
trigger the issue. It seems to occur randomly and even if there is no
active network traffic.

I'm having a similar issue on kernel 4.8.0-42 while running on an HP 705
G1 MT PC. This problem did not occur on the last kernel running on the
machine, which was 4.4.0-66.
What information do you need from me?
