acceptable workaround for some people until this bug is fixed.
Rebuilding nvidia-367 using dpkg-reconfigure under kernel 4.4.0-45
didn't work for me. Neither did reinstalling it (probably not much of a

System boots into xorg with the nvidia drivers in use and working completely.

I did not test another release on this laptop, only Trusty with 3.13 and
3.14rc6 kernels. A lot of people in forums complain about 7260 wifi card
(disconnections, slowness, choppy connection, bad range...), not only
using Linux. Maybe is it just firmware-related ?

With latest :
3.13.0-20-generic #42-Ubuntu
I get max speed with PM off (somewhat far from my router) and half of it when
PM is on. So it is much better but the title of this bug remains open.
The iwlwifi/mac changes in 3.13.7 seem to partially work ?

came up with is to:
* Use the NFS server's IP address in /etc/fstab.
* Add 'mount -a' in the first non-comment line of /etc/init.d/mountnfs.sh.

I've just installed a wifi repeater, N mode, good connection to router
and signal emitting strength.
Tests with bandwith tests and dowloads of big files :
- windows 8 with uapsd off : 1,5 Mo/s
- ubuntu 14.10 kernel 3.16.0-25 or 26, driver 25.222.9.0
I do not have the time to do that now but i'll try in one week. Does
12.04.0 contain the 7260 firmware ? If not, what firmware should I use
for ?

kernel 3.18 rc7 from Ubuntu's kernel archive
iwlwifi 23.10.10 (for kernel=3.17) firmware
power management not tweaked, i.e. it means ON

So, with 3.18rc7 and Utopic's default firmware (25.222.9.0) there IS a
speed issue. It seems to me that the dowload speed is as bad as Utopic
with 3.16 kernel.
But unfortunately, the latest firmware (-10) cannot be loaded by 3.16
kernel...

Hum, now I've got other issues. The kernel 3.19 is very unstable for me.
My screen goes black all the times and I have to restart when it stays
like this for too long.
Back in the game and still interested to see it working on a different

PCIe NVMe drives are very common in new laptops. The Zesty's kernels (including
latest 4.10 rc8 from CKT PPA) does not support APST (autonomous power state
transitions). A patch does exist :

Still affects Yakkety with GS 3.20 packages. Same workaround works.

Ubuntu GNOME boots to black
Some adds, running Yakkety with official 367.44 driver :
* running Intel, select Nvidia, logout/login, login loop
* running Nvidia, select Intel, logout/login, login loop

Indeed, I get the same experience with Yakkety.
"Kinda funky" means, running my system, that Nvidia boots fine but Intel can
lead to a login loop (not reproduced) and surely to a Xorg crash (but only
Apport makes me knowing that there is one, except maybe the deactivation of
some Gnome shell's
After some reasonable big time of use, I get (as far I noticed in user
interface or system journals) no errors and not any hang. I did not
notice any slowdown either.
