I just realized that the text of my comment (#151) is really bad; I
cannot figure out why it came out so bad; I do not write has bad.
Therefore, I am resubmitting my comment with better wording, for the
sake of clarity.

Without doing anything to my Lenovo T61P (Ubuntu 12.04),
I have this bug coming back and bite me again.
Obviously, kworker hogging CPU can be caused by multiple causes. Since
this bug report is generic in nature, maybe it should be converted as a
wish for a mean to trace easily the kworker thread. We need something
like 'top', to tell us why kworker
My Lenovo T61 died on Sunday evening. Does not even boot to BIOS, no
beep; it is a brick now. Got myself a Lenovo w510. Took the drive from
my T61 and put it into my w510. The stock kernel 3.14 also does not
work with the w510 and proprietary Nvidia drivers. I never had the
chance to update
On my Lenovo ThinkPad T61, I tried kernel 3.14.1-031401-generic, but at
boot it fails. It shows me a panel stating I have problem with the
display and input devices. I then press enter and another panel with
4 options shows up, including going into low graphic mode. At this
point, the mousepad

Public bug reported:
Once in a blue moon, lets say once every two months, kworker runs with
40-60% CPU because of kernel modules e1000 and/or e1000e. Reboot the
machine does not help. I rebooted twice to no avail
I then ran:
sudo modprobe -r e1000
sudo modprobe -r e1000e
and the problem
Marketing wise, as the Ubuntu Touch phones are about to go to market, it
would be embarrassing that OSs such as Windows and Mac can transfer
files via Bluetooth with the new phones, but not Ubuntu itself.

Same problem. Both host and guest are running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty

Same problem Ubuntu 14.04 LTS running Unity. I cannot figure out what
are the two systems that compete with the lid going down. Workaround
consist at suspending manually and waiting for suspend to complete
before closing the lid.

In my case, here is a scenario to reproduce it.
- Have the laptop configured to suspend upon lowering the lid.
- Suspend the laptop with other means, such as fnsuspend key, going through
the Unity menu or on a terminal sending 'sudo bash -c echo mem
/sys/power/state',
- Immediately after the

/wireless-networking/05511.html, one can conclude that this issue
will probably never be fixed. The Ultimate-N 6300 is only supported for
kernel 2.6.30. Obviously, it would be great for someone at Intel to
confirm this.
This crucial bug that undermines the reputation of Ubuntu has remained
opened for a very long time. Obviously, the fix seams complicated since
it still has not arrived. But meantime, people want a working laptop,
period. This is the kind of bug that pushed many previous Linux users
to migrate
@Aron Xu, I can you be sure the problem is not Network Manager related?
I do not say you are wrong, but could you point to some evidence that
the Network Manager is not involved with this? Searching through the
comments, the word 'kernel' does not show often and none suggest that
the problem is

Like everyone else, I am experiencing the same issues.
"intel_iommu=off" in Grub does not help.
Here are some symptoms I suffer; not sure if they are related to this
bug or not, but worth mentioning since they all degrade my Ubuntu
experience since I upgraded from 20.04 to 22.04.

I conquer with chris (platoscave). Pretty all my problems went a away

fixed by the different projects composing Ubuntu as time passed by.
22.04 just wasn't ready went it came out.
My only issue that remains is when waking up
