discrepancy: GEN6_RP_INTERRUPT_LIMITS, expected: 170, was: 1206000
where xx.yy is a set of unpredictable (but increasing)
6-digit numbers. Is there a setting I need to change in the system to
make this error go away, or is it a bug in the new kernel?

I think this issue affects me too.
I have a Gigabyte Z68MS-UD2H-B3 Motherboard with Precise and I got this
error when coming back from suspend.
The latest kernel version not affected is 3.2.0.39
All other version show this issue.
I also tried with linux-image-3.2.49-030249-generic-pae. This did not show the
message, but I am not so sure, because there where a lot of other message,
maybe masking this Power management discrepancy: GEN6_RP_INTERRUPT_LIMITS,..
I hope this helps finding the problem.

@penalvch: Yes, I'd be happy to provide an impact statement.
I don't perceive any problems with suspend or resume - it is working
just fine, as it does on my Windows laptops (dual boot on the same
system as well as an HP EliteBook work system). The message is
innocuous. It is, however, still happening into v3.2.49, and sometimes
the power discrepancy values are different (I can't remember them off
the top of my head). The error doesn't always appear, either.

Ever since I installed the new kernel, I am seeing this error on the
text window when I go down for suspend:
[xx.yy] [drm6:rp_sanitize_pm] *ERROR* Power management
discrepancy: GEN6_RP_INTERRUPT_LIMITS, expected: 170, was: 1206000
where xx.yy is a set of unpredictable (but increasing)
6-digit numbers. Is there a setting I need to change in the system to
make this error go away, or is it a bug in the new kernel?
