[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1210091] Re: Laptop lid closure suspends ongoing shutdown; later resumes shutdown
This exactly describes what I am experiencing on a clean install of 13.10 (also happened on 13.04). Kernel is currently 3.11.0-14-generic When I start shutting down, then close the lid, the computer stays on in a suspended state until I open the lid again, at which point it resumes shutting down. I have the computer configured to Do Nothing when the lid is closed as my user. Strangely when I run the gnome-control-center as root, it shows different power options. I changed these root settings to also Do Nothing in the hopes it would prevent this problem from occurring, but it still happens. Not really sure where else to go or what other information to provide. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1210091] Re: Laptop lid closure suspends ongoing shutdown; later resumes shutdown
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.11 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as Confirmed. Thanks in advance.
