kernel 3.8.0-29 does not detect usb memories; but 3.8.0-27
I've applied the kernel of Luis Henriques and the USB memories are detected!
The reports in /var/log/syslog are normal.

That kernel version of Luis Henriques also solves the black screen of
death problem that I had [^1] with the 3.8.0.29 kernel (and not with
any other) always

I updated the kernel from 3.8.0-27 to 3.8.0-29, I rebooted, the
3.8.0-29 kernel was used, and... two usb memories were no longer
detected.
I rebooted and chose the 3.8.0-27 kernel, then both usb memories were
detected.
I rebooted and chose the 3.8.0-29
This seems to be a duplicate of bug #1215155. Could someone hitting
this issue try the test kernel I've built for that bug? You can

I forgot to mention that in my case the memories are detected after ~6 mins.
Attached the syslog output after inserting the flash drive.
At 20:37:36 after several reset and timeout messages the device is detected an
can be mountet with dolphin.

I just wrote as the packages in the PC have no changed because I have
booted with the 3.8.0-29 kernel, and then with the 3.8.0-27 kernel, and
that action has not changed the installed packages.

I have the same issue, two usb memories don't work when booting the new
kernel. One of them is a flash drive and one is a hard disk. Another
flash drive and a sd card in a usb card reader work. When booting the
3.8.0-27 kernel all memories work. All my USB ports are USB2.0.
