[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1229361] Re: psmouse serio1: Trackpad lost sync at byte 1 ... driver resynced

2015-04-15 Thread Dima Ryazanov
In my case, scrolling sometimes stops working. If I switch to a VT then
back to X, it starts working again.

This started happening when I upgraded to 15.04.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1229361] Re: psmouse serio1: Trackpad lost sync at byte 1 ... driver resynced

2015-02-15 Thread Sylvain Duchesne
I am facing quite a similar bug.

[ 5064.348229] psmouse serio1: Touchpad at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost sync at
byte 6
[ 5064.374647] psmouse serio1: Touchpad at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost sync at
byte 6
[ 5064.401144] psmouse serio1: Touchpad at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost sync at
byte 6
[ 5064.427147] psmouse serio1: Touchpad at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost sync at
byte 6
[ 5064.453618] psmouse serio1: Touchpad at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost sync at
byte 6
[ 5064.453630] psmouse serio1: issuing reconnect request

The touchpad is not responding during several seconds. It could happen again
some seconds later or not happen during hours.
This is very annoying :(

Note: I had this issues years ago then it disappeared (maybe thanks to
the fix associated to this thread) and now this problem is back (from
one month or two).

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1229361] Re: psmouse serio1: Trackpad lost sync at byte 1 ... driver resynced

2014-02-06 Thread Brad Figg
This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves
the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the
results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-
saucy' to 'verification-done-saucy'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1229361] Re: psmouse serio1: Trackpad lost sync at byte 1 ... driver resynced

2013-10-07 Thread Brad Figg
This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves
the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the
results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-
raring' to 'verification-done-raring'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

I've successfully tested this on a fresh install of raring:

3.8.0-19.30: kern.log is flooded with messages as in this bug's description
3.8.0-32.47: no more flooding, palm is properly detected, bug seems fixed

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1229361] Re: psmouse serio1: Trackpad lost sync at byte 1 ... driver resynced

2013-09-23 Thread Joseph Salisbury
It looks like we just need to set the finger count to 0 in the case of
palm detect. I'll put together a patch that can be sent upstream and
SRU'd to the stable releases. I'll build a test kernel and post a link
to it shortly.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1229361] Re: psmouse serio1: Trackpad lost sync at byte 1 ... driver resynced

2013-09-23 Thread Joseph Salisbury
I posted a test kernel for download at:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~jsalisbury/lp1229361/

Can you test this kernel and see if it resolves this bug? Note, you
will have to install both the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb
packages.

Thanks in advance!

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1229361] Re: psmouse serio1: Trackpad lost sync at byte 1 ... driver resynced

2013-09-23 Thread David Zumbrunnen
Hi Joseph

Thank you for the very fast response! I've just installed it and tested
it: No more flooding of kern.log and the palm detection works much
better: no more jumping from window to window.

Without seeing a patch, I guess you've changed the result code in
cypress_get_finger_count (as in https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell-
sputnik/+bug/1048258/comments/41 ), right?

Dave
