[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1237296] Re: 168c:0036 [Acer Aspire E1-572] ath9k QCA9565/AR9565/QCWB335 Bluetooth not working
Goddammit sorry, I found the reason for all this trouble. It hasn't todo with ubuntu or the kernel at all. It is an dual boot windows 8.1 issue. Because windows 8.1 doesn't shutdown properly, instead it goes into some kind of hybrid shutdown state. The firmware file is already loaded into the bluetooth module and that condition can't be handled by the linux ath3k driver, so it shows the error I reported. So the patch in comment #44 works great and should be implemented into ubuntu saucy and trusty. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1237296 Title: 168c:0036 [Acer Aspire E1-572] ath9k QCA9565/AR9565/QCWB335 Bluetooth not working Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in “linux” source package in Saucy: Triaged Status in “linux” source package in Trusty: Triaged Bug description: Hello, I got myself a brand new Acer Aspire E1-572-54204G50Mnkk, because of the shine new Haswell hardware I choose to install Ubuntu 13.10 Beta 2. I did a booting marathon now to see how often it works or not. I did 20 boots, working y or n, here is the result: y y n y n y n n n y n n y n n n n n n y So it worked 7/20 times, its like playing roulette, completely random. I got it working with the patch comment #23 at some point, but like 90% of the time it doesn't work. And I can't reproduced why, just some rebooting, using windows, hard power off etc. and 1 of 10 times bluetooth works.
