Title:
kernel stack trace when running openvswitch DEP-8 tests

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
The DEP-8 test exercises the openvswitch userspace and kernel module
by setting up to bridges, connecting 7 'hosts' to each bridge,
patching the bridges together and then running performance and ping
tests between hosts on different bridges.

The stack trace occurs on teardown of the bridges/switches.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1251035] Re: kernel stack trace when running openvswitch DEP-8 tests

2013-11-22 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Can you test the latest 3.11 upstream stable kernel[0]? This will tell
us if the commit that introduced this regression in 3.12 was sent to
stable. If that kernel tests out ok, we should test some of the 3.12
release candidates to find the first one that introduced this.

I have a feeling it may have been sent to stable since comment #4
suggests this is also in 3.5.

Title:
kernel stack trace when running openvswitch DEP-8 tests

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The DEP-8 test exercises the openvswitch userspace and kernel module
by setting up to bridges, connecting 7 'hosts' to each bridge,
patching the bridges together and then running performance and ping
tests between hosts on different bridges.

The stack trace occurs on teardown of the bridges/switches.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1251035] Re: kernel stack trace when running openvswitch DEP-8 tests

2013-11-21 Thread Steven Stratford
I habe the same problem here.

I updated from Kernel 3.5.0-40-generic to 3.5.0-43-generic and got the
same Bug. Switching back to Kernel 3.5.0-40 solves the Problem.

Joseph

I tested with 3.11.0-12-generic and I don't see this issue - I guess
that gives us somewhere to start from!

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1251035] Re: kernel stack trace when running openvswitch DEP-8 tests

2013-11-14 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? This
will help determine if the problem you are seeing is the result of the
introduction of a regression, and when this regression was introduced.
If this is a regression, we can perform a kernel bisect to identify the
commit that introduced the problem.

Title:
kernel stack trace when running openvswitch DEP-8 tests

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The DEP-8 test exercises the openvswitch userspace and kernel module
by setting up to bridges, connecting 7 'hosts' to each bridge,
patching the bridges together and then running performance and ping
tests between hosts on different bridges.

The stack trace occurs on teardown of the bridges/switches.
