[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1333002] Re: usb audio related bug

2014-07-12 Thread Greg Tippitt
I am having this same error when using a Zalman ZM-RSSC External USB 5.1
Sound adapter. The machine is a fresh install of LUBUNTU 14.04. Before
upgrading my HTPC, I was using this same sound adapter with another PC
running LUBUNTU 12.04 and did not get this error. I get this error
logged whenever any application is outputing sound. I primarily use the
PulseAudio interface from VLC and stream video from NetFlix using the
Pipelight facility with Firefox. (Super praise and thanks for everyone
that worked on getting NetFlix working so great with Ubuntu.)

I did not originaly report this bug. I'll try posting the apport-
collect 1333002 output that was requested and has not been provided
yet. While sound continues to work despite this error being logged,
these repeated errors accumulate and make logs difficult to use.

My deepest thanks to all involved in Ubuntu development and maintenance,
Greg Tippitt

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1333002] Re: usb audio related bug

2014-07-09 Thread Boyan Sotirov
I think I'm affected by a similar issue. In my case i use USB audio speakers.
Each time I select them as an output device - yes they work, but constantly the
following messages are logged:
Jul 9 14:42:04 NUC-desktop kernel: [ 3413.003020] retire_playback_urb: 820
callbacks suppressed
Jul 9 14:42:09 NUC-desktop kernel: [ 3418.018277] retire_playback_urb: 827
callbacks suppressed
Jul 9 14:42:14 NUC-desktop kernel: [ 3423.033500] retire_playback_urb: 827
callbacks suppressed
Jul 9 14:42:19 NUC-desktop kernel: [ 3428.048798] retire_playback_urb: 827
callbacks suppressed
Jul 9 14:42:24 NUC-desktop kernel: [ 3433.064025] retire_playback_urb: 827
callbacks suppressed

Should it be like that? What's the meaning of the these log messages?
