I have very similar symptoms on Xenial, currently Linux 4.4.0-10-generic.
Graphics hardware acceleration doesn't work after resume from suspend.
Chrome window does not respond, is not redrawn. glxgears and games do not
launch.
I have it on Dell Latitude E5520 with Intel HD Graphics 3000.

i have xenial installed but if i cant fix this bug or anyone else fix it
i must have to uninstall ubuntu xenial and go back to wily.
