The problem seems to have gone away. I don't know when it was fixed for me, has there been a recent kernel update? After reporting this bug I reinstalled using kubuntu installer, but later switched to mate desktop. I'm sorry for the late response. This problem only happens when I use my docking at work, but I usually only have time for playing around at home, where there's no docking. Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
