Title:
Synaptics touchpad not detected in Clevo
I have the same issue on a Metabox P650-RP (re-badged Clevo), Ubuntu
16.10, kernel 4.8.0-46. Adding i8042.reset to my kernel command line
fixed it for me also. I'm currently upgrading to 17.04 so I'll see if
the problem persists in the new kernel.

Paweł Bylica, to keep this relevant to upstream, one would want to
periodically check for, and test the latest mainline kernel (now 4.9) as
it is released.
Could you please advise?
** Description changed:
- The laptop Clevo P650RS has a Synaptics touchpad but it is not detected by
the kernel 4.
The workaround is to set i8042.reset boot option
