2018-03-19 Thread Stefan Bader
This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves
the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the
results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-
xenial' to 'verification-done-xenial'. If the problem still exists,
change the tag 'verification-needed-xenial' to 'verification-failed-
xenial'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

2018-03-03 Thread AaronMa
Hi Austin:

Lenovo has introduced several touchpad models.
Please try install kernel linux-image-4.13.0-1021-oem to check if it is fixed.
This kernel version had merged the elantech patch.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1733605] Re: elantech touchpad of Lenovo L480/580 failed to detect hw_version

2018-03-03 Thread Austin Riedhammer
I believe this may also be the same issue I'm having with my Lenovo
T480s, which has an Elantech touchpad and I see the same error on boot
from a "dmesg | grep elantech". I'm running 17.10, current kernel
version is 4.13.0-36-generic, and I have the same symptoms (no
multitouch, two finger scroll, etc.).
