[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1747492] Re: [GeForce GTX 1080] 17.10.1 DisplayPort 15m cable monitor flickering
I just tried it with the latest download from the main page. And it seems to have issues displaying 3440 x 1440 @ 59Hz/60Hz. It can only display it at 49Hz. However, at the login screen, it will display, by default, at 3440 x 1440 @ 60Hz, so there is no display shown. On Windows 10, there is no display issues at 3440 x 1440 @ 60Hz ISO Image hash used for new install: 1a3d2d32ada795e5df47293745a7479bcb3e4e29d8ee1eaa114350b691cf38d3 ubuntu-17.10.1-desktop-amd64.iso -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1747492 Title: [GeForce GTX 1080] 17.10.1 DisplayPort 15m cable monitor flickering Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: After installing 17.10.1, plugging in the 15m DisplayPort cable, it works, however, there is an unusable amount of screen tearing and flickering, and pixelated lines across the screen --- ApportVersion: 2.20.7-0ubuntu3.7 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC2: eric 2029 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC1: eric 2029 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: eric 2029 F...m pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: eric 2029 F pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 17.10 EcryptfsInUse: Yes HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=efed4438-d8f7-494f-bc1f-c5097c43bfff InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-02-05 (1 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 17.10 "Artful Aardvark" - Release amd64 (20180105.1) MachineType: To Be Filled By O.E.M. Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.15 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance.
