We can perform a "Reverse" bisect to identify the commit that fixes this
bug in 4.15. We first need to identify the last kernel version that had
the bug and the first that did not. Can you try the following two
kernels:

I have confirmed that the laptop is stable with 4.15.0-041500-generic
installed.
