Title:
Broadcom [14e4:4320] BCM4306 (rev 03) Slow Wifi on Ubuntu Server 20.04

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Hi,

I am am experiencing slow wifi for a Linksys WMP54GS v1.0 wireless PCI
card with Ubuntu Server 20.04 installed, e.g. apt-get has taken 18
minutes 41 seconds to fetch 459Kb.

  Following the advice from
  https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2214110, I have installed
the firmware-b43-installer package. The card is recognised and is
sometimes allocated an IP. When it is connected, it is very slow.

Using the wireless-info tool the logs for the wireless system
configuration is given below. As shown in the logs the b43-pci-bridge
driver is outputting an error message concerning the swiotlb is full.

Has anybody managed to get the Linksys WMP54GS v1.0 card working
on Ubuntu Server 20.04 using the b43 firmware supplied in package
firmware-b43-installer?

Since the log was produced I have also tired setting the REG_DOMAIN in
/etc/default/crda but still does not work.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1876963] Re: Broadcom [14e4:4320] BCM4306 (rev 03) Slow Wifi on Ubuntu Server 20.04

2020-10-14 Thread Aaron Pickett
Similar problem, same hardware. Really low throughput, and my logs are
getting spammed with the following error since upgrading from Ubuntu
MATE 20.04 to 20.10 beta. It worked fine in 20.04:

b43-pci-bridge :03:02.0: swiotlb buffer is full (sz: 2390 bytes),
total 0 (slots), used 0 (slots)

According to the bcm43xx Ubunti Wiki, my hardware isn't supported by
"bcmwl-kernel-source".

Title:
Broadcom [14e4:4320] BCM4306 (rev 03) Slow Wifi on Ubuntu Server 20.04

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hi,

I am am experiencing slow wifi for a Linksys WMP54GS v1.0 wireless PCI
card with Ubuntu Server 20.04 installed, e.g. apt-get has taken 18
minutes 41 seconds to fetch 459Kb.

  Following the advice from
  https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2214110, I have installed
the firmware-b43-installer package. The card is recognised and is
sometimes allocated an IP. When it is connected, it is very slow.

Using the wireless-info tool the logs for the wireless system
configuration is given below. As shown in the logs the b43-pci-bridge
driver is outputting an error message concerning the swiotlb is full.

Has anybody managed to get the Linksys WMP54GS v1.0 card working
on Ubuntu Server 20.04 using the b43 firmware supplied in package
firmware-b43-installer?

Since the log was produced I have also tired setting the REG_DOMAIN in
/etc/default/crda but still does not work.

sometimes allocated an IP.

After reading https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/bcm43xx
filed the bug under linux package instead of b43-fwcutter since suspect
the issue is with the b43 driverand not the firmware installer
