I would like to know how I could contribute to kicad on windows?
Is http://kicad-pcb.org the to-go page?
Is it possible to compile using Visual Studio? If not, can the make system
be added to VS? I like the editor and its code completion features.
Where can I see what needs contributing, goals,
Firstly I would like to point out I am not a kicad developer, but more of
an interested individual on KiCADs success.
When I hear that UI refinement is not necessary. I cringe. It is devoid of
any logical thinking and consistency. Each and every one of the kicad
programs has its own way of doing
Cirilo,
That sounds great. IMHO this goes along hand in hand with CERN's wishes of
making the different parts of kicad loadable libraries such as eeschema and
pcbnew.
I don't really have much programming experience to recommend an approach,
but studying what already exists could help. Altium has
I concur with Chris. From my experience, status windows are just there for
when you are interested in some output, maybe to debug your scripts but log
files could serve that purpose. It does make sense to show it along a
command input window or messages from a DRC check.
Scripts should run in UI
Why not have it as two different tools? I think altium has it like that.

I'll try to be as helpful as I can. I share the opinion about having KiCad
support a minimum set of hardware.
I believe that one must set the bar. If those who develop the OpenGL canvas
with X or Y hardware. Then that should be the tested hardware, but include
that minimum require GL version,
Hello,
This is my first post to the mailing list.
I am a current user of Altium, and I think that OpenGL is necessary to use
it. Either you have it and you can use the software, or you don't and tough
luck.
