Anyone know of the old Cinch-Jones multi-pin Connector libraries anywhere? Did
not want to reinvent the wheel. Easy enough to create but thought I would ask.

The problem is in the diy_transformers library. I may have created it
when I added a part.
What are the rules for part names and labels? Can you hyphenate names?
Whitepsace is not allowed???
I had a library start to give me errors and I was wondering if there
are any utilities to figure out just what is wrong. I get a DEF error
in line xx when loading a particular library.
I realize this has been discussed at length before but in my searches
I am not sure how resolved it is. Can someone tell me the steps to
convert Orcad libs and sheets to Kicad? Is this in a FAQ? I know there
are utils in the files section but I have been unsuccessful in using
them. Mostly because
a way to convert them. So I ask
again, if anyone has any ideas, or a direction to go in, please let me know.

Being a Linux user I should have known the following!!!
The problem was that the projects and sheets I was creating were in
the c:/program files/kicad path in Vista. Since I am logged on as a
user, I was not seeing nor updating the files.
Creating a c:/users/me/documents/kicad/ projects
I am not understanding something here. I am in Eschema, I select
preferences then libs and dir. I add (or ins) new libraries. I save
cfg to the project file name. As long as I am in the current sheet
libraries I added are there. Then I exit eschema.
When I come back the libraries I added are not

Doug,
In order for the libraries to be global, they must be added to the
template.pro files, either to the .sch or .brd files depending on wether
they are schematic symbols or pcb modules. This project is usually
found
in the template folder. Note that the order of adding libraries
Thanks Dan. Would you care to share that library? I mainly dislike the
resistors and caps (no curved plate).

New to Kicad but had used Orcad for many years. Is there a more US
like device library that uses resistor, ground, etc. symbols? Yhe
square box resistors just don't look right!

If I understand correctly, this only changes the mask clearance around
vias and traces. I need to change the clearance around the pads in
the module editor.

Previous versions did not do this. In case it matters, I always close
one program before starting the other (Kicad, text editor).

Cleanup pinsheet is supposed to do. I hadn't

Any ideas on what to look for to correct this?

Just out of curiousity, who is your board house?

In anyone is interested, here's my module data.
Somehow I ended up with two copies of pin 4, one extremely offset; the
other somehow at the end of the list, but in the correct place.
It looks as though the first copy has extra zeros at the end.

Anyone have some ideas? I am not sure if this is caused by Kicad beta

Any ideas on how to fix this from the module editor? Or in the mod

need to, but I always want to understand any underlying problems with
software :-)
