What you are saying is a little bit confusing, due I guess to however the part was created. Assuming that your module is called connect: Kicad uses the following files. connect.mod This is the actual module, open it with a text editor and you will see all the info, drawing commands and such

The module was placed in a directory that Kicad knows about (one of the paths point to the directory where the file is). The file I downloaded was a *.mod file...it was the only file given for the part I downloaded. My question, again is: for a given part, how many different files are
