[kicad-users] Pcbnew : how to display only references on the silk screen

2008-10-14 Thread Stephrac74
Hi there,

I’m wondering if it is possible or not to display only the references.

I’ve deactivated the color ‘invisible text’ but some components have still
the value displayed.

Same issue with some components which have the pin number displayed
(resistors and capacitors)

Is there a way to removed all that stuffs in order to keep only the
reference in one shot or do I have to edit value per value, pad per pad to
remove this unuseful data ?

Best

Basic line/wire placement and editing. How do I edit a line or a wire
that has already been placed. How do I move it, or move a
segment/vertex of a line/wire. I assume it is the same technique to
move a wire and a line. I have tried the SCH program so far, but
checking the PCB manual didn't give any clue either.

This is what I mean with basic; it is the normal tasks of creating a
schematic. And when doing that, at least I am ones in a while wiring
to the wrong pin or there may be a better route to make the schematic
more readable. And then... How do I edit the wire?

Well, so far I am not speaking about all the attributes possible to
set to a wire. Just the normal doinigs and undoings.

I've used several other CADs, and I know it's always a bit tricky
while learning, but here I haven't even found any examples or
instructions on how to do this. I guess that's why I feel stupid,
since it therefor must be very simple.

You say how to edit wires or graphical lines while placing them as
if it's immediately obvious what you're trying to accomplish - with
  respect, it's not obvious.

Please give an example or two it'll then become clearer if what
you're trying to do is feasible...

  Cheers,
  Chris.

   Hi!

As being new to KiCAD I've looked everywhere I could think of, tried
different approaches for placing wires and lines. I just can't
get any
manual page or description, not even in the tutorial for how to edit
wires or graphical lines while placing them, nor when later editing
  them.

Is there a such and I have simply missed it, or does everyone know
it already so that it is so very well known that it is considered
   common knowledge?

I don't mean to be rude, but I really can't find _any_
instructions on
   the matter.

I feel like I'm stupid as ... * Well, you know the feeling that
creeps
up when you feel something is obvious and you didn't get it...

Hi,
Place your cursor on the wire that you want to edit and right click.
A context menu will appear allowing you to delete or break a wire
already placed or will allow you to place a label on the wire.
Wire colours can not be changed at this time.
Anyway try it for yourself.

David.

[kicad-users] 3d packages question

Objet : 3d packages question

Hi group,

I’m finishing my PCB and adding the 3D packages for my components. I’ve
spent all the evening looking on the web for already made 3d but finally

2 of them are missing : a smd crystal q49_h3ums and a smd electrolythic
capacitor (type vishay 153)

I’ve installed wings 3d for creating these devices but I really don’t
understand at all how it works. It looks like unfair for me.

Is there an other software for creating the 3D packages ?

Does someone have the 3d packages for the two components I’m looking for ?

Best

Stephane
