Is it possible to fill zones in both component and solder side? I have tried,
but it only fills solder side even after I selected component side as the
working layer. Any suggestion is appreciated.
What version are you using?
I use fills on all 4 layers and they work fine.

and try see if it would work. Thanks.

Ok. I had this problem before but after searching the messages for a possible
solution I thought I had found it, but to no avail. Everytime I create a zone
and then try to fill it, PCBNew crashes.I have tried setting the dimensions in
inches and not mm, and left the clearance at 0.02 as stated

Hi Jean Pierre,
I also found a problem in the new version with Zone fill:
I needed a pad to be round on one side and right-angled on the other
side. To do that, I ploted an ARC on the solder-side. This makes an
extra copper area exactly as I need. The only problem is
In very rare cases the zone filling algorithm fails in zone calculations.
This is due to a non fixed bug in the kbool library (that is a great
library do to polygon calculations) used in kicad to handle zones.
Currently only one case is known.
A workaround could be to slightly change a zone

Hm, that was too early. Just tried to fill zones again with the more

PCBnew again!! Even the lates version!
In general I agree with you opinion about stability. And I understand
that an automated filling of a complex shape is
