Francis, just want to share with you what we do - which is to ignore 008.
We just change zebra configuration to use 260c instead of 008 where required.

I would recommend against changing the zebra configuration and mapping of
fields. It will most likely cause you some problems later on like keeping your
customizations on every update and making more changes as new features get
