and I would like (if possible) to update the server to jessie and koha

If you installed Koha using .deb packages, I recommend that you
- Set USE_INDEXER_DAEMON="yes" in /etc/default/koha-common
- Restart the koha-common service:
$ sudo service koha-common restart
Your records will get indexed incrementaly in a few minutes.
