Did you check if your MySQL service is running?
Try running
sudo service mysql restart
sudo service mysql status
Try to connect to MySQL manually after that and see if it works. Use the
command
mysql -uroot -p PASSWORD
replace PASSWORD by the root password of MySQL if you have given anything

Hello, all!
In our latest exchange, on 18 Jan. 2021 at 20:33 [JST] I asked several
questions about migrating a Koha database from one server to another, to
wit:

Hi Charles,
to my knowledge there is currently no way to avoid this renumbering.
Koha will assign the authority record the PK from the auth_header table
on importing, you can't keep your own numbers. I think this would be a
useful switch - please consider filing an enhancement request on
Hi Inês,
for what we discussed in this thread earlier 942$2 is not important, but
the same field in the item record is: 952$2 which corresponds to
items.cn_source in your database.
Hope this helps,

Hi Charles,
you can move your complete database from one to another server usually.
All the configuration is stored in the database, so you won't have to
re-enter frameworks, system preferences, patron information or any other
data.
After you have loaded your database into the new installation,
You can run everything ok a single container. You do that by enabling that
flags. If "it doesn't work" that would be a bug to submit to the
koha-docker project as well. You, of course, will need a tweaked
docker-compose.yml

Will do that.
Also do you suggest building a koha docker with seperate containers for
koha, apache, sip, cron and z39.50 server like it is in the respository?
I have now managed to run apache, koha and sip on a single container now
with a few small changes, but will there be any issues in the
Hi Charles,
Im also fairly new to koha so ill try to answer to the extent of my
knowledge.
1. You can find all the details about your database if you check towards
the end of the koha-conf.xml file that will be present at
/etc/koha/sites/KOHA_INSTANCE/koha-conf.xml , where KOHA_INSTANCE is your
My library is migrating its Koha database to a new server. I have found
instructions on both YouTube and static sources. But the instructions are
not perfectly clear to me and I have a few questions.
(1) How do you find out the password to MySQL?
(2) Does it matter whether you are running MySQL
Hello, everyone!
My library is migrating our Koha ILS to a new machine. We are now ready
to upload the authority and bibliographic records. I tried a test upload of
the authority records, but I was surprised and disappointed when in the
upload of the authority records, the authority record
Hi, all!
It's been awhile since I initially wrote on this topic, so please
forgive me for this late response.
In my original question, I asked whether it was possible to import the
item types (DVD for 'DVD', PDF for 'Portable Document Format', BK for
'Book', etc.) because my library is
Good morning,
Still on the topic of switching Koha to UDC -- is 942$2 the only field that
needs to be changed? Are there any other ones that are related to the
classification source?
I have already switched DefaultClassificationSource.
Thank you in advance,
Inês F.
