[Koha] Off topic: Do you consider Android to be open source software?

Dear Colleagues, Please excuse any cross posting. I am doing a presentation tomorrw on issues of open source software in libraries and I wanted to know how many of you consider Android (as in an Android powered smartphone) to be open source software. Why or why not? TIA, Christopher Davis

I guess I consider it open-source, but with the loosest of definitions. It is so proprietary. I am an idealist who prefers the Richard Stahlman vision for tech as long as there are options still available. Open source is not as important as OS if it is not also free. Thanks, Jesse On Thu, Sep
