Re: [Koha] 22.11.xx vs 23.05.xx opinions

2023-11-08 Thread Aleisha Amohia

Hi Alexander

When you upgrade to any Koha version, you will receive all the features
from previous versions too! The version build on top of each other. So
by upgrading to the latest stable version which is 23.05.x, you'll get
everything in 23.05.x, and everything in 22.11.x, and everything in
22.05.x, and so on.

Hope that makes sense.

Re: [Koha] Deleting biblios and items

2023-11-08 Thread Aida Djikic
Hello Anke,

thank you for the directions; I have followed them and have managed to
remove all records. When I run an authority search, I get a list of all of
them, though they are now lacking a heading type (it is now marked as
"Default"). Is it possible to bulk remove all of them from search results
as well or will I need to delete them one by one?

The ones that were not attached to records have a Delete option, but the
few that were have only an Edit option which leads to a "The authority
record you requested does not exist" note.

(Must also remember to uncheck AutoCreateAuthorities as that caused me to
have multiple copies of authorities (e.g. thesis advisors, as well as
subjects and index terms). Lesson learned the hard way!)

Assunto: Re: [Koha] 22.11.xx vs 23.05.xx opinions

Hello,

Catalyst have written blog posts about these releases, which highlight some of
the key things in each release, which may be helpful:

22.11: https://www.catalyst.net.nz/blog/release-of-koha-2211
23.05: https://www.catalyst.net.nz/blog/koha-release-2305

The highlights we were most excited about in 22.11 include the drastic
appearance changes to the staff interface, the generic OAuth2/OIDC single sign
on implementation, the electronic resource management module, the CMS pages
tool, the possibility to change the ownership of a public/shared list, and more.

The highlights we were most excited about in 23.05 include the ability to
receive multiple order lines at once, the CART and LIST emails being added to
the Notices tool, a 'report a concern' feature on the OPAC, auto-completion in
the SQL reports editor, and some other useful cataloguing enhancements.

Hope that helps!
Aleisha
