Hi Jonathan,
One quick question about running the command you describe:
$ chown -R USER:USER /var/log/koha/INSTANCE
What USER should I be inserting into this? I understand INSTANCE is the
name of my library.
I've tried the username that I log in with via Terminal and get a list of

Hi Dawson,
There was a change in 20.05. Before we silently ignored wrong
permissions, now we force the logging system to be setup correctly
(bug 25172)
We should certainly deal with that problem during the upgrade process.
I will see what can be done.

I´m not expert in koha, and can´t confirm you this. Personally, is the
first time I see this.
As is a brand new version, it might be a bug in the upgrade process.

You should give read/wite permissions to your koha user to the mentioned
fiile. Even better, to the whole directory since koha will write all logs
to that folder
/var/log/koha/library/
Note that "library" is the instance name of your library.

Alvaro

Can't open /var/log/koha/library/opac-error.log (Permission denied) at
/usr/share/perl5/Log/Log4perl/Appender/File.pm line 151.

Hello all,
We are running Koha 19.05.02 and we seem to have trouble saving an edited
patron record in the staff client using a superlibrarian account. Is anyone
has this problem? Have I missed something in the upgrade to 19.05.02??
Your help is much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Iming Chan
