t/db_dependent/Authority/Merge.t triggers this code change fully. However,

While the code eyeballs well, is it possible to write a test to trigger this
case? We have no tests which trigger ingest, as far as I can tell. And this is
a Koha library. Failing QA for lack of test(s).

Categories and branches are part of table constraints.
I believe some derived logic and a rephrase with a list might be better.
Switching to 'In Discussion', because perhaps other indexed fields might also

ps: you will need an active and working overdrive account to test this patch

1/ prepare a koha with overdrive sysprefs set and working
(OverDriveLibraryID,OverDriveClientKey,OverDriveClientSecret)

2/ set OverDriveCirculation syspref to 'disable'

3/ do an opac search, note the 'Login to OverDrive account' message is
incorrectly displayed

4/ apply patch

5/ do an opac search, note the 'Login to OverDrive account' message is no
longer displayed (good)

More patches will be applied to this bug report shortly to introduce a
standalone interface in Cataloging interface to administer draft records. 

Thanks for your comment Frédéric, the OPACSuppression syspref provides similar
functionality in terms of hiding some biblio records from search results.

However the big benefit of this draft record functionality is that all draft
records are listed on a single interface together. 

This will save librarians of large libraries having to remember all the titles
of half finished biblios they were halfway through cataloging, so they can find
them in the staff client, to continue editing the biblios. 

i.e. it is giving more options to librarians.

Librarian point of view - 
As M Tomsett says, this method cannot work properly without an email address.
The email field should not be required - especially now with so many countries
requiring specific opt-in permission from the user to send them email.
However, it should be possible for people to use online services without giving
an email address. 
I agree with Marcel that the ideal solution is to have the user enter password
(hidden, twice for verification) in the registration form. Then, let the email
address be optional, as a library set preference.

I'm not sure it won't be considered as a regression by some libraries. Before
your patch, Print summary shows the fine and its payment. After your patch, the
fine and payment info doesn't appear anymore. On Summary page, the table
showing information is labelled Account fines and payments. So 'payments' seems
to be expected.

This patch adds a writeoff equivilent to 'Pay selected'

Test Plan:
1) Apply this patch
2) Find a patron with fines
3) On the "Pay fines" tab, select one or more fines and use the
   "Write off selected" button.
4) Note the fine amount you used was written off for those fines.

When I navigate back to the modify notice page for HOLD_SLIP.

The text is correct in letter.content.

I've replicated the issue in 17.05 and 17.11 using both firefox and chrome.

Note that simply pasting the last line of text into an existing notice doesn't
cause the display issue.

We at Biblibre have the same issue for our libraries wanting 010$9.

Note that when creating a new records, AddBiblio is called and it does not
contain this code that removes $9.

Bug 5683 says :

It seems that running link_bibs_to_authorities.pl can corrupt records in cases
where there is a heading with only subfield 9 populated, since the script
automatically removes all subfield 9s.
"
So I understand that link_bibs_to_authorities.pl must handle the case where
field has no subfield anymore, not ModBiblio that is also used by cataloguing
page.
I'd say it must be fixed in LinkBibHeadingsToAuthorities().

PS : we must also revert tests in t/db_dependent/Biblio.t

For me the patch saves approximately 4ms per request. Not the huge performance
boost I expected by reading the bug title but it does save some time.

It should be noted that in the syspref description we can read

"connect" might be interpreted in different ways but I think what most people
understand is that a connection is when a user types their credentials in order
to be logged in the application, and not when the user is automatically logged
in by a session cookie. So the patch actually makes Koha behaviour closer to
the syspref description.

However, I don't like the way it is done. Passing the CGI::Session object to a
Koha::Patron method so it can read it and write to it. I think "Koha::Object"s
methods shouldn't be aware of what we use to manage the session.
Instead we should call track_login only when needed, like for example just
after a successful login :

Bug 17168 - Add a command line script for updating patron category based on
status

This patch adds a new script update_patrons_category.pl which allows for
updating patron categories in a batch upon meeting provided criteria.
This script additionally can replace j2a.pl.

To test:
1 - perl update_patrons_category.pl -h
2 - Ensure help text makes sense and covers all options
3 - Test converting patrons supplying only fromcat and tocat
perl update_patrons_category.pl -f PT -t J -v --confirm
perl update_patrons_category.pl -f J -t PT -v --confirm
4 - All patrons should have been switched to and from Juveniles
5 - Try without --confirm switch
perl update_patrons_category.pl -f PT -t J -v
6 - Should list all patrons but not update
7 - Set the age for juvenile patrons to be outside the range provided in
categories (or set the upper age limit for juveniles to '2')
8 - Test with verbosity and with without --confirm
perl update_patrons_category.pl -f J -a -t PT -v
perl update_patrons_category.pl -f J -a -t PT -v --confirm
9 - Repeat above and verify linked/unlinked guarantors are removed in above
scenario
10 - Test various fine and registration limits
11 - Test matching on specific fields i.e. --field surname=acosta
12 - Sign off

Bug 20546: Display shelving location on checkin

Currently, the sehlving location is not being displayed in the table
of checked in items on /cgi-bin/koha/circ/returns.pl

To test:
- Make sure you have a couple of books with a value for shelving location
(952$c)
- Check the books out
- Check the books in
- Verify nothing is displayed in the "Shelving location" column
- Apply this patch
- Check the books out and in again
- Verify the shelving location is now being displayed

Bug 19835: Fix repeatability on MARC21 subfields

This followup fixes all repeatability cases, from
updates 23+24+25 and a few older ones.

To test:
0) Apply both patches
1) Remove all your frameworks
2) Check mandatory bibliographic and authority files load without problem
3) Check repeatability...

Bibs and auth frameworks checked against LOC description.

Glad you could figure it out. Generally I'd recommend not using any special
chars in the your authorised values and others codes as this can have unwanted
side effects. Even - and _ may cause Zebra to behave a little differently on
searching than you might expect.

... well, I feel stupid now. The issue was with me using forward-slash in the
patron category code, which must be interfering with the javascript code.

Marking this resolved - invalid, because error exists between keyboard and
chair.
