Daniël van Eeden, the person who releases DBD::mysql on CPAN and has push privileges to https://github.com/perl5-dbi/DBD-mysql, has said that he is no longer maintaining DBD::mysql. That explains why Ubuntus package seems to just be stacking up patches on top of the last release from 2019. (Im glad I dont use DBD::mysql from CPAN. I do use DBD::Pg from CPAN but its much better maintained.) Anyway, Im asking for more information about the future of DBD::mysql, and thought Id keep you all informed.
