Hurray, this bug now has a patch which needs reviewing and sign-off! Could you 
check this out please?
I've also added Pascale (French Translation Team) since she tolds us she was 
interested into this feature development.

You're not doing anything wrong. The GetAvailability implementation in
Koha works only when id_type=item. And I believe the parameter
'return_type' is not used at all.
