My suggestion is HID. They use less power once warmed up. A 55w halogen bulb uses 10-15 amps vs a 35w HID which uses 20 amps for starting, dropping to 3 - 6amps once warm. Given a 35w HID is roughly equivalent to a 100h Halogen this is very efficient. Paul Smith Brisbane, AUSTRALIA

Netters I have been working on sizing my alternator, but have been stymied by several things. My full load toals about 24 amps if I use halogen landing lights (about 8 amps) and keep them on all the time as a safety measure. I tried several LED light setswhich draw less than one amp, but they
