For my original paint job I used a "boat" paint, readily available from a local
boaters supply store. It was an acrylic enamel. However that paint job only
lasted about 5 years. It was in a hanger but I did fly through rain on occasion

You don't need mega bucks aircraft paint to have a nice looking ,
long lasting paint job. I used $40 a gallon

Good job, Mark. I saw the report on the local TV station's website which
gave the N-number. Glad you're OK - the airplane coming thru reasonably
well is just a bonus.
