By slipping one must qualify the type. By definition you will be cross controlled in a forward slip, no way around that one. A side slip however would be used during a crosswind landing (kind of hard not to if you actually want to land on the runway). As far as slips being "dangerous" I

Does anyone know if there is any way to equip an A-65 with an alternator. I know that there are small alternators that mount on the vacuum pump drive pad but I don't think the a-65 accessory case has a vacuum pump provision. Thanks Bill Zink Columbus, OH

Just to let you know that the certified manufacturers (lycoming and continental) now require a tear down after a prop strike. They no longer discriminate between sudden stoppage and sudden reduction in speed and a simple runout check doesn't suffice. These manufactures no longer publish

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear that revmaster tech support is reliable. Do these engines come with service manuals and/or are they available from revmaster. I'm an A so I am very familiar with the lycoming and continental engines but I have no experience with the vw conversions. Thanks
