Thanks for the input guys. OK I listed the Icom with tray for $500, but the 76A transponder is confusing. Looking at other ads (with prices all over the map) they often mention "mods" and "high serial number". See the pic, does anyone know what my mods status is and if that serial is high? I

Used transponders cost more than they are worth and transceivers can be a problem if not operational.Repair is available but getting harder to find.The transmitter cavity in the transponder can go bad and replacement is more than the unit is worth.For that reason the 40 year old KT-76 I sold was

I can give you some figures on the transponder. I paid $600 for mine in 2006 which included an ACK-30 encoder. I just had to replace the ARC transponder in a Cavalier. It needed a sign-off and wouldn't pass the test so had the shop replace it with a used KT-76A. $1054 included troubleshooting
