I am building a KR2S. There are two shelves which are attached to the upper firewall. My fuel tank rests on the lower shelf and I do not want that. My problem is:: shall I cut off about the aft 2 inches of the shelf, or about 1/2" of the fuel tank? My main concern is structural.

This for Jeff Scott: Since I don't have your E-mail address, I'm answering by way of the net. Thanks for your reply. I agree that it is best to leave the shelves alone. I did some checking today, and I think I can alleviate the problem by adding a spacer under the forward edge of the fuel tank

I'm your height and weight and have flown a standard KR-2 (original plans) for 15yr. I wish I had built a KR2S, but at the time I built my KR, the S plans weren't published. (In the newsletters, I'd read about guys building stretch versions, but was unwilling to deviate from the plans) To
