I couldn't find any either, and bought the .016" also. When I took it
out of the box, it amazed me how heavy it was. It didn't pass my "light
enough to fly" test, so I kept looking. I eventually found some .004"

KR> Micro over "Smooth Prime"?

2016-09-07 Thread Pete Klapp
Netters

I have been priming my plane with "Smooth Prime" and unfortunately I have found
a few minor areas that will require a little touch-up micro. Too big to fix
with future priming and blocking prior to final paint. Is there a problem to
apply micro over "Smooth Prime"? Any special prep to insure bonding?

KR> Micro over "Smooth Prime"?

2016-09-07 Thread danrh at windstream.net
You could use Super Fil which is another product made by PolyFiber. Using a
resin based filler, could, I emphasize, could, make it harder to sand than the
Smooth Prime, thus, making it harder to get the smoothness you are after.

In my experience there is not. Just color sand with 320 or 400 and go ahead
with the final prep. should work out okay.
