Please go to Barnstormers to see my KR2 for sale. I need to dig out of a
financial hole, so please tell anyone you know who may interested in a
complete KR2 for $11,500.

 

This plane was built in 1995, has 164 hours and has been hanger stored since
2012 when it was last flown. I've owned it since 2014 but never have flown
it.

Still trying to sell this KR2.

My friend who owned this  aircraft passed away and I'm helping them to sell 

it.  After  looking through the very detailed records I can pass along the  

following information  

KR2 serial number 7616.  Completed  Feb, 1, 1991.  Registered as  N90JC 
although it looks like the  registration expired in 2010 after new  
legislation 
required  re-registration.

Total time 193.0.  Last flown appears to be  3-21-1997.

Engine is a 2100 VW and it appears to produce  75hp.

Empty weight is 608#
Max GW is 1100#
Cruise is 155mph  (5000msl  @2850 rpm on 3.6 gph.)

fuel capacity is 13.5 gal with 12.5  useable.

The aircraft was purchased from the builder for $12,500 in  April  1993.


The airplane has always been hangared.  It is located at KPMU, Panola  
county airport, in Batesville MS.  It's about 50 miles south of Memphis,  TN.  

The family doesn't have a price in mind as they don't really know how to  
value it but they are interested in moving it.  I'm not personally  
knowledgeable about this series of homebuilts but I would guess that somewhere  
around 8-9K would be readily accepted.  Of course after inspecting the  
aircraft 
you can be as aggressive as you'd like in an offer.

Jim - I found one post from Josh back in Mid October listing his tail dagger 2s 
for 14000 dollars - 200 hours on it. It is on the Rand Robinson Kr Aircraft 
home page ( not affiliated with the actual Rand Robinson Co. to the best of my

Jim this is Randy Smith. I had 74372. Sold to Jerry Stern two years ago. He now 
has 74372 and 74376.
I have Les Palmer's KR 2 with The bigger Subaru engine. It is a single seat. It 
needs some fiberglass work and brakes worked on. Last time I flew it was last 
year. Pulled the wings off so I could get my cruiseair and my 310 in the 
hanger. I will let it go for $5000 if you want to come get it. There is no 
radio transponder or ELT in the airplane. No negotiations good price just need 
to get it out-of-the-way. Any less than that and I could parted out for more.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this letter.  My health has not allowed
me to work on my plane. I won't  be able to pass my medical again.

As we all have, I have more invested than I well ever get out  of my
project.  I have shut down my web site.  So if you want pictures e-mail me at

I have a very  straight and solid KR2 boat, and most of the material to 
complete 
it. (no engine and no landing gear) Serial numbered plans, KR2 and KR2S.
Full size drawings of the AS 5046 wing.  All  KR fiberglass-forward deck-
canopy and frame- turtedeck and cowling. Wing spars; waf; foam; fiberglass;
peel ply; lots of hardware..  Call 903-815-1913 leave message I will call you 
back.  I don't all ways check e-mail every day.  Asking 4,000 I have lots of 
stuff
not listed.

You guys and gals are amazing.

I posted the other day for information on the plane that I am helping to sell.  
With the information that I retrieved from that archives, and the photos of 
past Adds and photos from other people who have seen the plane and worked on 
it.  Almost all the blanks have been filled.  I'm still witout log books.  and 
a few other blanks need to be filled in, but wow.  

When all in done I will put together a document listing all that I found out.

And to the guy who cut and pasted a barnstormers add from 2006,  dude you have 
to much storage space on your computer. thank you though.

I will send photos of the plane tomorrow.  Sorry but I lost the photos from 
this computer.

The plane is owned by an acquaintance of mine.  He has lost his medical, and 
needed help fixing the plane.  I will tell you everything that I know about 
the plane.  It was built by a guy in Chandler Arizona.  He flew it for 
awhile and sold it to a guy in Washington state.  That person went off the 
runway and the nose gear collapsed.  The lower cowl was smashed and the 
plane flipped over.  The canopy was damaged, and the vertical stab was 
broken off.  That person sold it back to the builder, who started to repair 
the tail.  That person was having some personal issues and sold it to the 
current owner.  I was hired to help ( or do all )  of the repair work.  I 
have my own KR2 that I had to do the similar work to.  I have over 320 hours 
on mine now.  Back to the story.  We repaired the lower cowl, had a new 
canopy made by Todd's Canopy.  We rebuilt the Elevator and reinstalled.  We 
finished the vertical and reglassed.  The plane had 2 and 3 coats of paint 
on it.  We removed all of the paint and did some small glass repairs on 
small air bubbles in the glass.  I reprimed and painted the plane top and 
bottom.  It has a new battery.  After I got the wings back on I started and 
ran the engine for about an hour.  It ran great and all of the temps were 
good.  It does not have a radio or a transponder.  The interior is dated but 
is ok.  It is out of annual, duh.  It has wheel pants that were never 
installed, and dual headsets.  There is very little as far as log books on 
the plane.  New tennesee prop.  any other info will have to come from 
additional questions to the current owner, but I dontl think he knows much 
more than that.

I saw no comments regarding the condition of the motor or if it has flown 
regularly, recently.
 
Seems it would be a bit risky to expect to scramble across the country, give 
your new purchase a quick checkout, and then fly back across the country.    
Seems prudent to think of a trailer and better motor evaluation back at your 
ranch.   You wouldn't want the motor to poop out on you over some parts of 
Arizona / New Mexico.

I have been working on a KR2 that is for sale.  Not my Snakebite.  The 
original owner is in AZ he sold it to a guy in WA who had a nose gear 
failure, and it flipped.  We are about done with all of the repairs.  I have 
photos to send to anyone off line.  It is a KR2 2100 revmaster, trike, with 
a new Todd's canopy.  all of the other goodies that you may want.  Starting 
price will be 12,000.It is a good built KR2

Hello Netters,
I am selling my KR-2 with standard retractshas B2180 revmaster dual 
ignition with approx 20 hours, the plane has never flown, has reg # n64635, 
with plans and some documents , the plane was built by Jim Terpstra, which he 
never had the opportunity to fly the KR-2... unfortunately died in a helo 
accident August 22 2007.

Your site isn't showing the pics on the front page.

I have had a look and to fix this you will need to make changes to the
index.html page.  Remove all the "sitebuilder/" entries that are before your
small images.  eg "sitebuilder/images/100_0136-400x247.jpg" to
"images/100_0136-400x247.jpg" and your small images eg. "100_0136-
400x247.jpg" on your computer will have to be moved to the "images"
directory on the server.

Hope this makes sense.

It sure would be nice if someone on the net had the time / ability to
set up a "FOR SALE" site just for the KR Netters or anyone else
that is interested.  It could be linked to the krnet.org and Gathering
site as well as other builders that would care to link it from their
site.

I know there are a lot of sites listing aircraft / parts for sale but we
have 600+ builders possibly looking for unique items from entire
projects to motors, instruments, wood, etc.

The airframe has 350 happy hours. Original KR2 stock build tail dragger.

Aircraft built by licensed AME. First flew in 1985. Always hangered. All but

Half way to adding a new engine 1835VW (150 hours flying time from
Dragonfly) dual electronic ignition

I started to rebuild the panel and need to recreate the electrical system as
this engine has an alternator/ starter.

Full logs on Airframe and contact info for original builder and previous
owner of engine.

Asking $6K or best offer.

That is the long way home for sure, but I am in New Brunswick which is 
next to Maine.  You could come over here and I would take care of your needs 
on the ground for a couple of days no problem, and if you like the bird take 
it home with you.  Trick is the paper work of course, if you were to trailer 
it as parts, then you are away, if you fly it home while I'm sure you could 
do that, it is a job too, and needs deregistration here and registration 
there,etc. but with effort can certainly be done.

for sale. I have always been interested in the Kr2 and I just happened to 
come across this
one about three years ago. It was in the exact same condition as it is now. 
Due to work
and school I have had no time to work on this plane and have stored it in my 
basement for
the past three years. Everything you see in the photos was completed by an 
older man in
the construction business who passed away after a heart attack. It is very 
good
craftsmanship and I have some pictures of his construction along the way.

I have a KR-2 for sale in Havelock NB, It is a subaru powered one and a 
trike,  It could use a better prop, but otherwise is a pretty, and good 
working airplane that you could have complete with GPS and Radio, and many 
improvements, for 15000 Cdn.  OBO
Why am I selling?  I got two KR-2's can't think how to fly them both, and 
don't want to be greedy.  Come take one for a ride and fall in love.

Barnstormers website seems to be down for awhile.  Keep trying to use the
link, eventually they'll be back up.:  http://www.barnstormers.com/. 
If you type it in, make sure it is spelled correctly--you are leaving out
