My Kr2 was balanced nose heavy. It needs a minimum of 70kg pilot to fly. Wing
tanks on the CofG central line. Flys great. But as always with the short Kr2,
PIO (pilot induced isolations) with over correction is common. If I did not
have an experienced Kr pilot with me on my first flight, it woul

I have no tail wheel time in Kr hope fix that soon. I did my training in super
cub. Lots of ground handling first then slowly increasing speed on runway on

Well the time has come to stop full time employment. I retire on the 25th

Fill the whole, thread, top of anchor nut with urethane foam?? Or similar.
Then use fuel proof resin on the inside over the Anchor nut area to seal. Then

My first flight was a surprise. It was very light on controls. I did over
control. SIO. But just stop moving the stick ( you almost have to let it go)
relax. Now after 750+ hours and having sold my Kr I get very bored and
disappointed when I fly other aircraft. The 152 and 172 n
Out crop dusters strip here where I keep my Kr2 is 800 metres 2600ft. I use
about half of that for both take and land.

My KR2Ss wing tanks extend about 16 inches behind main outer wing spar at the
WAF
That’s about 20.5 from leading edge.
So about 1/2 through the tank from the L/E is about 20 inches.
Just doing an empty W&B as we speak
So that is what I will use till a professional W&B IS DONE.

Not happy with W&B. I just moved engine forward 3 inches, and redoing all my
W&B checks. As it was tail heavy
Empty CofG was 2 inch behind the Fwd limit
3 inches forward seems to allow two people with full fuel and baggage.

It’s a fairly simple job to make the aileron spar caps last, when finished
cutting and sanding to shape, then just sit them in their correct place, fit
and drill the piano hinge, then remove and fit lock nut to the back of the
spar.

Mike I totally agree with a standard krMy KR2Ss is longer and wider, so a larger tail area, as per Mark Langford is a must. The next most important area is empty CoG. Try and build with the empty CoG on for even FWD of the plan forward limit. My first kR2 needed min 75 kg pilot with empty plan to g
Larry Flesner advised to to try and visit Larry Howell while I’m at Oshkosh
this year, to try and meet up with a few Kr guys.

Well I finally got to fly her again, with cowl mods, bad weather, I did an
hour flight today
Temps 350 climb 300 cruise
Rpm 2000 static
2200 climb
WOT, only made 2400 ( 2750)
Very light on controls.
Better to taxi than my kr2 nose wheel
Max IAS 120kts @ 2400.
Easy to land
