KR>Gathering attendance
With this years Gathering included, I will have made 30 of the last 31 Gatherings. I attempted to attend the one missed by taking off from southern Illinois in the KR and heading to California but reversed course in Arkansas to avoid high winds in Oklahoma. Joe Horton, with his trigear KR, oil dripping from his Corvair engine all over is nose wheel pant, continued on and made it to California and back home to Pennsylvania without incident. As for me, no guts, no glory. My KR has attended 16 of the last 17 Gatherings. Some kind of record I'm guessing. See you all in Lees Summit. Close enough to the date to program the GPS for the trip and start checking the weather forecast. Roger, Appreciate the offer but I need to get it removed from the airplane 1st and send it. Yesterday was when I figured out I ran of other options. Hope to start on that this weekend, hoping I don't have to remove the engine, I think I got enough space to get it out. Well heck, my KR is not going to make it to the Gathering. Sorry Mark Langford, you'll need to find another candidate for the weight and balance forum. I was flying back from breakfast Saturday morning. I air I did a Magneto check in air and the left Mag was running rough. No problem, right side was still fine so I made it back to my airport with no issues. I did the usual checks, replaced a couple spark plugs, looked for loose wiring etc. Rechecked all a couple times but to no avail, my Bendix Dual Magneto needs to be pulled and serviced. It will take a few weeks since I need to mail it off to Tulsa OK (Aircraft Accessories) for service and return. They did the overhaul on it 500 hours ago and it has been running perfectly for the last 500 hours, 7 years. I'll get it reworked and run it another 500. I will still attend the gathering, but won't be flying in now, big disappointment. See everyone next Friday. Since I'm not flying I'll bring some "Root Beer" for the camp fire. Thanks, Rob Schmitt N1852Z Kansas City, MO

KR> Gathering Attendance
I got the news last Friday that I would be running all the mechanical work on an outage at our plant starting September 17th. We met today on the work scope and schedule for the next twelve weeks and it is going to be six tens and Sundays as necessary. That casts my plan to attend the 2004 Gathering in stone. I had some hope that it would be a five ten schedule, but we have $32M to spend on reliability and it will take six days for twelve weeks to melt that into parts, pieces and overtime pay. This year sounds like the one NOT to miss, so you guys have a great Gathering and I'll buy the video. Please put me on the list Video Bob. John Roffey jerof...@tir.com KR2S someday Fort Gratiot MI.
