I looked up the standard valve stem diameters in the VW manual, and they are different. .3126-.3130 is correct for the intake, but the exhaust stem diameters are listed as .3114-.3118, so it makes you wonder if the Manley's may be a smidge tight. But then again, your guides are probably worn some anyway. I'd try them and check how much they rock at the head....supposed to be .009-.011 new, with .032 max. I'd call whoever you are buying these from. Racemaster seems like CBF or somebody, and if it's a VW place, they should work fine.
