Any sound directly using alsa is OK, e.g. mpg123.
Any KDE program does not work (amarok, noautom, juk, ...).
Sound hardware in KDE control center is configured autodetect.

Solved, was a bug in korganizer which listed the standard calendar double, I
had to remove one of the both calendars listed under calendar (in the left
corner) and now it works.

Same problem here...on hoary q3a works fine, on breezy not!

OK, found the problem with external usb hard disk. simple fix--file format was
ntfs instead of fat32.
The only problem now is still being able to use k3b to burn cds. It does not
give me permission to use cdrecord on the Dell Inspiron 6000 with the latest
dapper but on my Dell Latitude d800
after updating now with cupsys_1.1.99.b1.r4929-0ubuntu8_i386.deb
cupsys-client_1.1.99.b1.r4929-0ubuntu8_i386.deb i have the same error from
kprinter (the conection with CUPS fail), if i go to http://localhost:631 cups
work find.

The package kdelibs-data owns many of the file related to association and

When Ubuntu and Kubuntu are installed side-by-side, their menus should work
together nicely. All icons should be visible whether you are in KDE or in
WORKAROUND: rm ~/.gtkrc-2.0
This is quite annoying. KDE will change the GTK theme to qt, but the GNOME
theme selecter can't change it back. You can only change it back by deleting
the gtkrc file.

this only recently started happening to me in dapper (with multiple IMAP
accounts), it seems to occur if I do things quickly, such as changing folders
or scrolling down a folder that possibly hasn't fully loaded? Most times
changing to another folder and back will clear it but other times I
