This is an upstream decision (Debian KDE) not to install automatically the
bitmap fonts.

force their installation.

using freeflying's (and my) version of kopete 0.12, i'm still getting
this bug.
Whenever I run it through gdb, it doesnt crash. How annoying! Will
keep trying to get it to reproduce.
Interestingly though, the last time when it crashed, I'd just restarted
X, and kopete wouldnt open, only

I now know why this is happening, at least to me. All my music is on a
remote samba share, mounted under /mnt. AmaroK monitors the directory
for changes using gamin. Gamin expects things under /mnt to be
temporarily mounted, so instead of the MUCH more efficient kernel
dnotify method of
I have tons of mp3 in a fat32 partition, but amarok is not the only
thing that makes gam_server eat cpu (in my case). It happens appartently
with no reason. Of course, running amarok gam_server goes mad for sure.

Same problem also arises when installing sun-java5-bin (it wants a

Same bug here. Only woks if new device is used. However media detection
works just fine. Everything shows up in the media folder. That would
rule out hal issues I suppose.

I have a similar configuration.
Under /media I have mounted 3 ntfs partitions which have lots of files on it.
My entire music collection is located on one of the ntfs partition which is
accessed by amarok and therefore apparently by gamin.

It looks like the file usr/share/locale-
langpack/de/LC_MESSAGES/quanta.mo from the Package language-pack-kde-
de-base is missing.

This is a bit hard to explain, but i'll try.
Certain actions makes akregator (and Kontact) unresponsive and put's the
CPU-usage through the roof (100%) for a long period (10-20 sec).
It happens when:
#1: When I first open aKregator and
I don't know if it's the same problem, but with the new gamma-control in
dapper/kde 3.5.3, the gamma-setting I'm choosing isn't stored and thus
lost the next time I log in.

I think this ATI-fglrx problem is not just for ubuntu or a specific X
WM, as I told before, I have Slackware and I had read about this problem
in other distributions as Debian, Fedora, etc. Also people that tried
with just loading X (without any WM), having the same problem.
