I can't really see how adding a symlink will break compability. If so,
loads of programs should get broken when you install libssl-dev, which

I have uploaded the fix to my PPA and will ask for testers (as I do not
have the HW to properly test the fix) later when packages get built.

I'm still seeing a related issue on a Lenovo ThinkPad T60 (ethernet
chipset 82573L). When I boot the laptop (running kubuntu gutsy) with
the network cable disconnected, knetworkmanager doesn't register the
interface at all. I tried the suggestion above, to enter offline mode
and going online
The script seems to work fine in Gutsy (i386), should amaroK status be
set to Fix released?
