Confirming this on Kubuntu Jaunty with KDE 4.3 installed from PPA. The
first attempt to logout gets the confirm dialog; subsequent attempts do
not get the confirm dialog. There appears to be no way to troubleshoot

Ever since the upgrade to Kubuntu Karmic on my laptop running 64-bit
Kubuntu, I have had a problem with the mouseover selection indicator on
the icons in Dolphin's main view. The indicator is very laggy and lags
very far behind where the mouse
I added KDE4.3 to Ubuntu 9.04 x86(from the Launchpad kubuntu-ppa
repository). krfb 4.3.0-0ubuntu1~jaunty~ppa1 still shows a scrambled
screen on a VNC client.
Back to GNOME since I need remote display of the :0 desktop - at least
Vino works (when Compiz is disabled).

The big memory leak is still present in version 0.19 of Jaunty.
As a workaround until this is fixed, how can I disable update-notifier-
kde so that it doesn't start every time?

My advice is to switch to the FreeNX client/server:

It works, well, with (K)Ubuntu, with none of the problems that have been
reported with vnc4server. The vncserver issues have persisted for
months, with no promise of resolution. FreeNX, on the other hand, just
works.
The support of Netscape plug-ins is based upon the QtWebKit you have
installed. If you have Qt 4.4 installed on your system than flash etc
will not work. Netscape plugin support was added in Qt 4.5. QtWebKit
actually looks a large number of places to find your plugins.
I have tried to make some improvements to Arora based upon the comments
in this thread. The improvements can be found in the Arora Git
repository. Please let me know if there are other particular ways that

Hopefully I can explain things a little bit. First off the
/etc/avahi/services file is what is used by the Avahi daemon to
*advertise* what services you have available on your local host. It is
not the recommended way to advertise services, the recommended way is to
have zeroconf support build
