Public bug reported:

KRDC does not honor my left-hand mouse button settings. I was connecting
from one (Ubuntu kde4) to another machine (gentoo with x11vnc kde4).
Both machines have mouse buttons switched to left handed, but in krdc I
had to use my right hand to click.
Official Ubuntu repositories (like karmic-backports where you get
digikam), work only with official packages. I will copy digikam/kipi-
plugins also to kubuntu-ppa/beta, to ensure that you have packages built
with kde 4.4 beta. I will name it ~karmic2 in order to be installable

This works perfectly well here with Amarok 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 beta, I guess
you have some missing dependencies or an incompatible taglib version.
Current should be libtag1ca-1.6.2ubuntu2 in KDE 4.3.4 (available in the
updates PPA, see also http://kubuntu.org) which would be 1.6.1 at least
in KDE

This is very weird. I experimented with some of the files amarok has
