that should be off by default. You can check kdebugdialog to make sure
debug messages are turned off. The message itself simply states that GL
based desktop compositing cannot be done because your driver is not able

I suppose its better to have it shutdown compositing automatically than
have it crash due to bug in driver? :)
Unfortunately nothing we can do about random issues in drivers which
forces deactivation of compositing for some devices/drivers at times.
