I've replicated this. The U/I does correctly show if the passwords
match or not, so the feedback to the user before they press continue is
correct. I'm not sure if this is actually RC or not. I could see
release noting this if we have to (rather than respin every flavor for
this Kubuntu specific

The source of the bug is qdbus (4:4.8.4+dfsg-0ubuntu9). The binary file was
moved from /usr/bin/qdbus to /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/qt4/bin/qdbus. So it is
not in root's PATH and can't be run in powerbtn.sh:46.
There are TEMPORARY solutions for users:
1) Install http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/qd

OS on SSD
Test unit with Asus P5KPL-C1600:
Intel Core2-Duo
4G DDR2 memory
OS on HDD
Ubuntu 1304 loaded and performs beautifully well on my P5KPL-C1600
Using 4.10.2 since its release, I haven't encountered this bug so far.
