I can't reproduce, I did test it and even if I can't create a qt quick2
project because I have a too old qt version, I could create a qt
application, a qt console application, qtwidgets, qtquick,
qtquickcontrols, and every window was correctly opened, with working
menu, mouse clicks and so on.
I
I moved it back to new, but likely nobody will look at it, and will be closed
in today+5 years or so.
Setting it to incomplete might trigger some answers (even if such failures are
really rare with cmake)

something more I don't recall.
Basically hdf5 has been a long stading problem, because the cmake detection was
buggy, and developers crafted their own bad solution to fix the issue.

I don't understand, locally make test works, when the library is outside
the build directory it doesn't.
I suspect the culprit is your path.h.in file, that hardcodes local

BTW I honestly think this was a typo in the set variable.
Probably a change like
+- _pkgconfig_set("${_pkg_check_modules_pkg}_${variable}"
we got the first bug report because of cmake 3.5

when I did the work some releases ago, the patch was needed, but this
makes some packages build successfully in Ubuntu but not in Debian
(going just with my memory) something like this one
