Stephen, I am sorry that you feel this way. As I said, solution is to
install digikam from karmic-backports repository. You can install just
digikam (and kipi-plugins), if you are concerned about "unsupported"
status of backports (to prevent other backported packages to install).

Agreed, and true, shipping beta version in Karmic was mistake, we should
avoid doing this in future. However, changes between Beta5 and final
version are too big to be accepted as Stable Release Update, that is why
we had to resort to Backports.

www-browser package, which is normally provided by your favorite web browser.
There are of course some KDE dependencies that are pulled in, but this is due

Thanks for tracking this down. Have reproduced the problem on Hardy with full
stack trace.
Will submit this bug to kdepim enterprise developers in order to get fixed
before Hardy release.
Not sure if this qualifies for Gutsy SRU though: it is not installed by default
and simple workaround exist
network-manager 0.7 should have better support for static network and may
improve in this area.
I will close the bug for now, as nothing can be done for gutsy (user can decide
what to use for his network: network-manager or /etc/network/interfaces)

apt will install Recommends by default - this was changed in Feisty (or even
Edgy). I think this is only true for meta packages.
The only difference is that you can remove Recommended package without removal
of kubuntu-desktop. If you remove kubuntu-desktop, you will not get new
packages that ma
ui.allow_platform_file_picker set to false is really much better! It
provides firefox dialog (much more similar to kde) instead of gnome/gtk
one.
I think we should look into additing this to k-d-s for gutsy - if not

I think this is great idea and we should do it. Now that we have
universe/multiverse by default, I see no good reason not to do it. It is
just meta package and users has to opt-in (like they have if they

Powermanager does not support UPS (or mouse...) batteries. We currently support
only primary (laptop) batteries.
This might be considered for future version (but it is hard to test as
developers do not own any HW to test this).
